My trip to Darul Maawa was an eye opener.It is the home for Muslim kids.From the information i received,these kids were allowed to go home once a week and that if the home officer permitted it with reasonable explaination or one of their family members requested it.I've never been there and never once saw the place.I was disheartened that the place was quite old and small upon reaching.There are about 80 plus kids living there aged between 4-19.The kids there as young as 4 yrs old was so adorable.They were purely innocent and at such a young age,they had to experience all these.

Our mission:To entertain the kids and guide them with their homework.
My class was divided into 2 groups one teach Primary 1-3 and the other Primary 4-sec 2. My 'so called' mentee was a Sec 2 girl from Mansjuri Sec.We talked about the place and about herself.At that point of time,my heart cry out for them. I was thankful and greatful to have a home,parents and my every necessity being met.For them,everything they want to do for instance watching television,surf the net,lights out is being controlled.The fun part:balloon sculpting.I can really see them enjoying themself.haha!!

If god willing, i intent to go back there and do my part as a volunteer.

Around 6,we left the place feeling satisfied for being able to bring joy to the kids :).
Had dinner at Swensen with family and then headed home.
An insightful day i should say :)
